Nothing beats getting your favorite food for free, and Burger King knows it. The fast-food giant did, after all, recently treat fans to a full week of freebies—including the beloved Croissan’wich and the decadent Hershey’s Sundae Pie—to help us power through Daylight Saving Time.
Now, the Home of the Whopper is back with another tasty giveaway, and this time, it’s all about one of its most popular sides. For just one day, Burger King is making sure our meals are perfectly complete by offering complimentary onion rings—no luck of the Irish needed.

How to Get Burger King Onion Rings For Free
Burger King fans, get ready to strike (hot and crispy) gold this St. Patrick’s Day. On March 17, Royal Perks members can score free onion rings of any size with just a $1 purchase when ordering online or through the BK app.
BK’s onion rings are known for arriving “piping hot and plenty crispy,” which is why they’re one of our favorite fast food sides. They may be smaller than some competitors, but they deliver big on crunch and flavor. Typically, a medium-sized order costs around $3.89, though prices can vary by location. So, getting them for free with just a minimal purchase is a deal that’s hard to pass up.
If you’re wondering what to order alongside your free onion rings, you can’t go wrong with one of BK’s iconic sandwiches. The Bacon King, stacked high with crispy bacon, or the Texas Whopper, loaded with two flame-grilled beef patties and melty cheese, make perfect companions for your crispy side.
To claim your free onion rings, you’ll need to be a BK Royal Perks member. If you’re not already signed up, you can join for free online or through the Burger King app. Once you’re a member, you’ll be able to enjoy plenty of other perks by earning points—or “Crowns”—on eligible purchases, which can be redeemed for future items on the menu.
But your luck doesn’t run out after March 17. The chain’s Combo Combinations promotion runs through April 11, allowing fans to upgrade their combo meal sides for free. Instead of standard fries, you can swap in Chicken Fries, Mozzarella Fries, or even Churro Fries at no extra cost. Simply choose your combo meal, including the entrée and drink you prefer, then opt for the side upgrade you want.
So, whether you’re celebrating St. Paddy’s with free onion rings or taking advantage of a combo upgrade, Burger King is making sure you can Combo Your Way—without breaking the bank.
