You may have heard that some of the best new drinks at Starbucks aren’t on its menu. Rather, the coffee chain’s spring secret menu is the place to turn for eye-catching drinks like an Iced Cherry Mocha and a Mermaid Matcha that tastes like when “you drink the cereal milk” after eating Froot Loops, according to one barista.

Those secret menu items are definitely desirable, but you’re going to want to look at Starbucks’ official menu for its latest launch. And we’re betting you’ll be glad you did. Starting May 7, there’s a new cold foam that sounds just as sweet as drinking Froot Loops milk, albeit less fruity.

Starbucks’ New Brown Sugar Cream Cold Foam

Cold foam is simply milk mixed with a sweetener, then turned into foam using a frother (or by shaking it up in a jar, whisking it by hand, or blending it with an immersion blender). Simple as it may be, cold foam has all but taken over the world of coffee—in cafés and at the grocery store.

To continue the trend, Starbucks is introducing a new flavor of its fan-favorite cold foam topping. The new Brown Sugar Cream Cold Foam uses molasses-sweetened brown sugar to add a ton of flavor to the foam. Imagine that flavor mixed into an Iced Caffe Latte, Iced Chai, or a cold Shaken Espresso. Sounds heavenly, right?

For a limited time, you can even try the new Brown Sugar Cream Cold Foam at Starbucks for free. It’s all part of a special week dedicated to cold foam.

Starbucks Introduces Free Cold Foam Days

From May 7 to 11, Starbucks Rewards members can add cold foam, including the new Brown Sugar Cream flavor, to any cold beverage for free. To redeem the offer, rewards members can order their preferred cold beverages with cold foam in the Starbucks app and apply the coupon. Alternatively, they can order in-person, letting their barista know that they’d like to apply the offer in the store or drive-thru.

In addition to the new brown sugar flavor, Starbucks also offers Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam, Salted Caramel Cold Foam, Matcha Cream Cold Foam, Lavender Cream Cold Foam, and Cherry Cream Cold Foam. Any of them sound delicious with an iced coffee drink, especially paired with one of Starbucks’ bakery treats. We can’t think of a sweeter way to (unofficially) welcome summer.
