On May 5, 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that the Nashville-based Vietti Food Group is recalling 4,515 cases of Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans. The baked beans were recalled due to the presence of undeclared soy, which can pose a serious and even life-threatening risk to those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy.

The “Yellowstone”-branded baked beans were sold at several retailers, including Associated Wholesale Grocers, KVAT Food Stores, Hy-Vee, Meijer, and Walmart, according to a statement given to our sister brand, EatingWell. The canned beans were distributed to 23 states: Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

How to Identify the Recalled Canned Beans

At this time, the recall only impacts certain lots of 15-ounce cans of Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans. The recalled cans can be identified by the lot code printed on the bottom of each can: Best if Used By Feb. 17, 2028.

If you believe you have the recalled canned beans in your pantry, you should not consume them. Instead, discard them or return them to the original place of purchase for a refund, even if you do not have an allergy or sensitivity to soy. If you have a soy allergy, consuming these beans may result in an allergic reaction, including life-threatening anaphylaxis.

If you have any questions about this recall, contact Vietti Food Group at (513) 682-2474 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT or email recall@zwanfood.com.
