What in the pie is happening with Crumbl Cookies?! The beloved cookie chain is sliding into another lane and not everyone’s impressed. In fact, some are horrified.

First, say hello (again) to Crumbl Savory Hand Pies. Last week, one Crumbl store in Provo, Utah was spotted testing a fleet of new breakfast and lunch pies. It’s not the first time the Provo store has quietly rolled out savory options, as this specific location has tested different savory pies for the last couple of years. The latest menu included a chicken Cordon Bleu option. If you think that’s over the top, previous testing revealed “Inception”-level layered flavors such as Shepherd’s Pie Hand Pie and Chicken Pot Pie Hand Pie.

But those aren't the only pies causing a stir in the Crumbl-verse.

Crumbl's Sister Brand Crust Club Introduces New Sweet Pie Pockets

Last year, Crumbl Cookies founder Sawyer Hemsley acquired Crust Club, a pot pie and casserole chain that started as an online-only brand. The hearty menu includes Savory Pie Pockets similar to those tested at Crumbl, but Crust Club also features Sweet Pie Pockets with a seasonal rotating flavor. For example, right now it’s a riff on carrot cake.

Other flavors include raspberry cheesecake, Boston cream pie, and cookies and cream. The Sweet Pie Pockets are available individually for $5.49 or you can buy a four-pack box for $19.49 as well as a six-pack box for $26.49 to mix and match all the flavors.

But a video from February is now going viral, and it’s making Crumbl fans everywhere realize that something is a little…off with these sweet hand pies. In the video, which was recently reposted to TikTok by user @TacoBellFan22 (who incorrectly identifies the Crumbl founder as Jason McGowan, Crumbl’s current CEO), Hemsley shows off a six-pack of the pies remarking on “how cute they look.” He goes on to say that these pies are “elevated” because of the additional glaze poured over the crust.

A milky-colored, triangle-like shape the size of your hand? "Looks like raw chicken," someone commented.

"Thought [it] was a liver," another person said. "We don't trust you sir," added another concerned fan.

It gets worse. The filling of Crust Club Sweet Pie Pockets often feature a special custard. And for this particular flavor, strawberries and cream, the filling looked, well, “like pale refried beans stuffed in a chicken breast,” as one commenter put it.

Another pleaded, "Why is it BEIGE in the middle?"

While the seasonal custard and thick glaze certainly set Crust Club apart from other fast food dessert hand pies (ahem, McDonald’s), Crumbl fans have concerns about what that means for texture. Based on this video, folks said it looks “mushy,” “nasty,” and “soggy.” And since most of Crust Club’s dessert hand pies feature that signature milky glaze, it’s now hard to unsee that very distinct, raw poultry-like sheen. Fortunately, nearly all of these hand pies are topped with some sort of streusel or cookie crumb to break up the Trompe-l’œil nightmare.

Sweet (raw chicken) dreams, everyone!
