Few kitchen brands can rival the rich history or storied success of Le Creuset, which is currently celebrating its 100th year. To mark a century of artisanal Dutch ovens, braisers, pots, and cast iron skillets, the French brand launched its hottest limited-edition color yet: flamme dorée, or “golden flame.”
It’s easy to see why Le Creuset chose such a dazzling name. The brilliant orange hue evokes the heart of a cooking fire, with natural minerals in the glaze making the whole piece sparkle. A shining gold knob sits on top of each lid, adding an elegant finishing touch. The flamme dorée collection pays homage to Le Creuset’s very first cookware color, flame, a molten-orange hue first released in 1925.
Four of Le Creuset’s most iconic cast iron pieces are now available in the limited-edition flamme dorée color. The 100th year collection is bound to sell out fast, so get your favorite pieces while they’re hot.

$450 at Lecreuset.com
Le Creuset’s crown jewel—the signature round Dutch oven—is practically synonymous with the brand. The dependable and durable piece of enameled cast iron cookware is compatible with any cooktop style (including induction) and oven-safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
It’s a favorite among Allrecipes Allstars, who described it as the “Rolls-Royce of Dutch ovens” after extensive testing. The flamme dorée Dutch oven is available in three sizes: 4.5 quarts, 5.5 quarts, and 7.25 quarts.
Flamme Dorée 6.75-Quart Signature Oval Dutch Oven
Le Creuset
$515 at Lecreuset.com
Le Creuset’s oval Dutch oven also comes in the new centennial shade. It’s available in two sizes, both roomy enough to feed an entire dinner party. The 6.75-quart size makes six to seven servings, while the massive 15.5-quart size makes over nine servings.
This heirloom-worthy Dutch oven is as versatile as it is eye-catching. Its oblong shape fits large and irregularly shaped foods, such as an entire chicken or a whole fish. Plus, thanks to the pot’s steep sides, you can make large portions of soup and stew without worrying about overflow.
Flamme Dorée 3.5-Quart Signature Round Braiser
Le Creuset
$425 at Lecreuset.com
Braisers are shallower than Dutch ovens, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. Aside from braising meats to juicy and tender perfection, braisers are great for reducing sauces, searing meats, steaming vegetables, and so much more. Unlike standard Le Creuset knobs, which feature the brand’s name, the flamme dorée knobs are stamped with a bold C.
Flamme Dorée 2.25-Quart Signature Round Saucepan
Le Creuset
$310 at Lecreuset.com
Le Creuset’s signature cast iron round saucepan is now available in flamme dorée for a limited time. At 2.25 quarts, it’s the smallest piece in the collection, but don’t let its size fool you. The saucepan is a kitchen staple for a reason, offering impressive versatility.
This small-but-mighty pot is handy for making Alfredo sauce, gravies, small-batch stews, risotto, and chocolate fudge. It’s easy to maneuver around the kitchen, thanks to its long, elegant handle and rounded support grip. With proper care, this little pot will last a lifetime.
