This weekend, golf fans around the world will be tuning in to watch the greatest players compete for the title of 2025 Masters Champion—and the honor of donning the most iconic green jacket in all of sports. But what will we be tuning in to see? What they’re eating.

Even if you’ve never watched a single minute of golf in your life, you can still love the Masters Tournament for its famously crave-worthy cuisine. And believe it or not, the menu at Augusta National goes far beyond pimiento cheese sandwiches and Moon Pies.

In fact, the eating starts before the tournament even tees off. One of the most exclusive events of the week is the annual Champions Dinner, held for past Masters winners and the Augusta National chairman. Each year, the reigning champ is given the privilege of hosting the esteemed dinner—as well as curating the entire menu.

That honor, of course, goes to Scottie Scheffler this year, the defending champion of Augusta’s hallowed turf.

Now, Scottie has some experience crafting this particular dinner menu. He built the 2023 version with maximum flair: cheeseburger sliders served “Scottie-style” (which, as far as we can tell, means stuffed with french fries), firecracker shrimp, chicken tortilla soup, a choice of Texas ribeye steak or blackened redfish, and a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie to cap it all off. Honestly, 10 out of 10 selections, Scottie.

But for his second go-round, Scheffler's adding a new signature dish—one that gives a nod to his golf career and his sense of humor.

Scottie Scheffler’s 2025 Masters Menu Addition

The Champions Dinner menu this year looks very similar to Scottie’s previous ceremony. (We’re assuming his original Southern-style feast went over well with the legends in green.) However, there are two key changes.

First up: chicken tortilla soup is out. In its place is a Texas-style chili—a no-bean, beefy bowl topped with cheese, corn chips, and jalapeños. That makes two Texas-style dishes on the menu, likely a tribute to Scottie’s home state and alma mater, the University of Texas.

But it’s the second change that’s stealing the show. In addition to sliders and shrimp on the appetizer menu, Scottie is serving Papa Scheff’s Meatball & Ravioli Bites. To the average fan, it might look like any other finger food—but to every green jacket-clad diner, the inside joke will be loud and clear.

Here’s the backstory: At the start of the year, Scheffler spent over a month off the course due to a hand injury. But not just any hand injury—it was a “ravioli-related” puncture wound, of all things. According to CBS Sports, the accident happened while Scottie was trying to make homemade ravioli for Christmas dinner.

"So, when you make raviolis—we wanted to make them from scratch," he explained. "You’ve got to roll the dough, and you've got to cut the dough, but we were at a rental house, so we didn't have like the right tools and the only thing there was a wine glass that we found. I had my hand on top of it, and it broke."

He added a word of caution, "Side note, I’ve heard nothing but horror stories since this happened about wine glasses, so be careful. Even if you’re like me and you don’t drink wine, you’ve got to be real careful with wine glasses."

Instead of letting people pity him after the accident, Scottie was the first to crack a joke. And now, he's giving everyone a taste of the Christmas ravioli that Papa Scheff had fully intended.

So, if you’re looking to celebrate Masters weekend in true “Scottie-style,” consider adding a tray of meatball and ravioli skewers to your spread. Serve them with pecorino cheese and tomato-basil sauce for the full effect—but make sure you’ve got the right tools on hand before you get rolling.

Or, better yet, just buy frozen. We bet Scottie wouldn’t blame you.
