I Tried the Viral Chick-fil-A Order—and It’s a ‘Million Out of 10’

Since creating a TikTok account, I’ve realized just how uncreative I am when it comes to my fast food orders. Essentially, I ordered something one time, fell in love with it, and have never changed my order since in fear that I won’t like the new item as much as my go-to. But, after trying hack after hack at Jersey Mike’s, Chipotle, McDonald’s, and Chick-fil-A, I’ve determined that I need to broaden my fast food horizons.

So, after seeing the high-protein Chick-fil-A order that went viral with more than 6 million views on TikTok, I knew my typical Spicy Deluxe Chicken Sandwich and Waffle Fries could wait until the next Chick-fil-A run.

The Viral High Protein Chick-fil-A Order

TikTok user @smallersam_pcos shared her Chick-fil-A order that she says comes out to 530 calories and 40 grams of protein, helping her maintain her weightloss.

She gets a three-piece Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips meal with the Kale Crunch Salad, which has kale and green cabbage topped with an Apple Cider and Dijon Mustard vinaigrette and roasted almonds, in place of fries. For sauces, she asks for two packets of honey and two packets of Texas Pete hot sauce.

The order does require a little DIY-ing as @smallersam_pcos drizzles the honey and hot sauce over the chicken tenders and shakes them up to coat the chicken. Then, she cuts the chicken up and adds it to the salad to eat all together.

The comment section is filled with how “amazing” the order is—and even has Chick-fil-A employees weighing in.

“I work at [Chick-fil-A] and I can’t tell you how many people ordered this today I’ve seriously never seen something so viral,” wrote one user.

There have been some pretty viral Chick-fil-A orders out there, so to see that employees have noticed an uptick in this salad and chicken tender combo, I knew I had to get in on the action.

My Honest Review of the Viral High Protein Chick-fil-A Order

As menu “hacks” go, this one is pretty easy. There’s not a lot of extra assembly needed, other than saucing up the chicken tenders yourself—which, I realized we should all be doing anyway to properly coat our tenders and nuggets with Chick-fil-A’s sauces, to heck with dipping.

A quick shake, cut, and dump, and the salad was ready to eat.

Even if this order did have more steps, I’d still do them because, wow, was this combination delicious. The Kale Crunch Salad is lightly dressed, so the sauced-up chicken pieces add a great sweet-and-spicy flavor that mixes well with the apple cider-mustard vinaigrette.

As someone who loves Chick-fil-A fries, I would forego the waffled potatoes to eat this salad again—especially when I’m looking for a lighter option. I appreciate that @smallersam_pcos still opts for the fried chicken tenders rather than the grilled nuggets because you still get the crunch you’re looking for.

As Allrecipes senior editor Courtney Kassel said after taking a bite, this one is “a million out of 10,” and I can’t wait to order it again. But, pro tip, adding the waffle fries to the salad along with the dressed-up chicken strips will only make this order better (if you know, you know).
