If there’s one brand we can always count on to take fan requests seriously and actually bring them to menus, it’s Taco Bell. Whether that’s adding discontinued fan favorites back to menus, turning beloved items—like Mountain Dew Baja Blast—into new offerings, or simply taking fans’ suggestions for new orders, Taco Bell is a chain for the people.

As we’re gearing up for Taco Bell’s second Live Más Live event on March 4 (which is almost certainly going to include dozens of menu announcements), the Bell already has a new menu item in store—before anyone even takes the Live Más stage. Taco Bell is introducing an all-new spicy sauce that will take its fans’ beloved Cantina Chicken menu up a notch.

Taco Bell Introduces New Caliente Cantina Chicken Menu

In March 2024, Taco Bell introduced the Cantina Chicken menu to its permanent lineup, which featured a new, slow-roasted chicken along with fresh ingredients like pico de gallo, crunchy purple cabbage, fried white corn shells, and Avocado Verde Salsa. The menu quickly became a staple at Taco Bell, with one out of every four orders being Cantina Chicken—including the chain’s own CEO and CMO’s orders.

But, despite the love for the Cantina-style burritos, tacos, bowls, and quesadillas, some fans felt the menu could be spicier—even with the chain’s Diablo and Fire sauces available. So, fans asked and Taco Bell delivered with its new Caliente Sauce, which is made with red jalapeños. After a successful market test in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2024, the sauce is officially going national. On Feb. 27, the Tex-Mex fast food chain is releasing its new Caliente Cantina Chicken menu.

The Caliente Chicken Cantina Menu features all the faves you love from the OG Cantina Menu, now topped with Caliente Sauce instead of the Avocado Verde Salsa.

The menu includes a Caliente Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco, Caliente Cantina Chicken Soft Taco, Caliente Cantina Chicken Burrito, Caliente Cantina Chicken Quesadilla, and Caliente Cantina Chicken Bowl.

The crispy taco features a white corn shell stuffed with slow-roasted chicken and cheese, coated with melty cheese on the outside, and drizzled with Caliente Sauce. The soft taco is a fresher version with slow-roasted chicken, iceberg lettuce, purple cabbage, cheese, pico de gallo, and Caliente Sauce.

Taco Bell’s Caliente Cantina Chicken Burrito has twice as much meat as the tacos, along with iceberg lettuce, purple cabbage, cheese, pico de gallo, and Caliente Sauce. The quesadilla is a melty mix of cheese, slow-roasted chicken, and Caliente Sauce, complete with a grilled cheese exterior, and served with guacamole and sour cream.

Lastly, the Caliente Cantina Chicken Bowl features slow-roasted chicken, rice, black beans, iceberg lettuce, purple cabbage, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and Caliente Sauce.

Additionally, you can add a side of the Caliente Sauce to any of your go-to Taco Bell orders for an upcharge—similar to the Avocado Verde Salsa.

The Caliente Chicken Cantina offerings hit Taco Bell menus on Feb. 27, but rewards members can try the spicy goodies early via the Taco Bell app beginning Feb. 25.

And, be sure to save room for Taco Bell’s newest Nacho Fry upgrade—the Caliente Cantina Chicken Nacho Fries, which launch on March 27. The menu mashup starts with a bed of the fan-loved seasoned Nacho Fries, which get topped with slow-roasted chicken, nacho cheese sauce, cheese, fiesta strips, sour cream, and Caliente Sauce.

A new Cantina Chicken menu, Nacho Fries, and Milk Bar Birthday Cake Churros all before Live Más Live? If that’s just a preview of what’s to come in 2025, we’ll definitely be spending a lot of time in the Taco Bell drive-thru this year.
