Costco Finally Has the Ingredient I’m Obsessed with—and It’s Cheaper Than Anywhere Else

It’s hard to pinpoint when exactly pistachios became the “it nut,” but there’s no denying the tiny green morsel’s rise in popularity over the last few years. From creamy pistachio milk to pistachio croissants, cakes, lattes, cinnamon rolls, and last year’s viral Dubai chocolate, pistachios are popping up everywhere.

I can’t say I’m mad about it. The mildly sweet and earthy flavor of pistachios lends itself well to an array of dishes, from ice cream and buttery pastries to roasted vegetables and salads and so much more.

My latest pistachio obsession? Pistachio cream. Imagine a velvety, slightly sweetened spread that can be used anywhere you would use Nutella, except it’s pistachio-flavored. It’s the perfect condiment for zhuzhing up snacks, desserts, and even breakfast with a touch of sophistication. My only qualm with it? The hefty price tag. As I’m sure you know, pistachio products aren’t the most budget-friendly items at the grocery store—until now.

Pisti Pistachio Cream Is Back at Costco

A Costco shopper in Virginia recently spotted towers of Italian-made Pisti Pistachio Cream at their local warehouse retailer for $12.49 per 21.2-ounce jar. If you’ve been meaning to give pistachio cream a try or want to take a stab at making Dubai chocolate dupes at home, now is your chance—you’re not going to find a better deal anywhere else. In fact, I already looked, and other retailers are selling the same item for upwards of $28.99.

Unfortunately, the Pisti Pistachio Cream is only available in stores, and it looks like not all stores are currently carrying it. "My five Costcos in the nearby areas don't have it," a disappointed TikToker wrote, alongside countless other people who echoed the same sentiment in the comment section.

While Costco carried this product years ago, it didn't manage to restock until now. If you're lucky enough to find this at your local Costco, then your best bet is to stock up. Who knows, it could be another couple of years before we find it at such an unbeatable price again.

How to Use Pistachio Cream

Unlike pistachio butter, which is just ground-up pistachios and usually unsweetened, pistachio cream is a mix of ground pistachios, sugar, and oil to create a creamy, spreadable paste that can be slathered on anything your heart desires.

I like to use pistachio cream anywhere I would use nut butter. Spread some on a slice of milk bread, English muffin, or crusty French bread. If I’m feeling indulgent, I’ll dollop a spoonful over pancakes, oatmeal, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or even a cup of coffee with milk. But if I’m being honest, nothing beats sneaking a spoonful straight from the jar.
