When we think of Pop-Tarts, we think of childhood. Of course, college evokes memories, too, when it was the easiest breakfast to grab between classes. Even as full-grown adults, there’s no denying the nostalgic comfort of a good old-fashioned toaster pastry.
While Pop-Tarts has its classic, popular flavors (Brown Sugar Cinnamon, we love you), the brand has also offered up some fun additions to the lineup through the years, like Frosted Marshmallow Hot Cocoa that show on on shelves to celebrate the season.
Now, with this in mind, Pop-Tarts just announced a special edition flavor that we’ve been willing to make a comeback—seasonally or otherwise. And it arrived just in time to get us in the mood for spring.
Pop-Tarts Is Bringing Back Its Frosted Sugar Cookie Flavor
Pop-Tarts is bringing spring a little early this year by returning a beloved flavor. The fan-favorite Frosted Spring Sugar Cookie, now dubbed Spring Thaw Edition “No Chill” Sugar Cookie, is available nationwide at major retailers (Target has them for $3.29 each) for a limited time to give our bellies all the warm weather feels.
For those who have yet to enjoy these limited-edition toaster pastries, you’re in for a real treat. Sure, these fully-baked pastries still offer the flaky exterior we know and love from this brand but these are stuffed with a sugar cookie filling for a super sweet finish.
Of course, we can’t forget about the design. Traditionally, we see Pop-Tarts decked out in icing and sometimes dotted with colorful sprinkles, but not with the Frosted Sugar Cookies. Last year’s showcased eight printed snowmen designs, but things are a little different this time around. For 2025, we can expect to see 10 icing designs on the No Chill pastries, including gingerbread men sunbathing on the beach and reindeer surfing in the ocean to create a playful mashup of winter and summertime fun.
Fans can’t wait to get their hands back on this beloved flavor, with one commenting on Facebook, “Sugar Cookie Pop-Tarts are back and these are dangerously good!” Over on Instagram, a commenter exclaimed, “These are divine,” while another added, “I LOVE U SUGAR COOKIE POPTARTS.”
Growing up, we always loved biting into a Pop-Tart when we needed a sweet snack. And we can’t help but still crave the deliciousness these treats offer, especially since they can be enjoyed straight from the box, frozen (as one Instagram user suggested), or popped in the toaster for a quick warm-up. Since it’s still cold outside, we’re all about warming up right now, and a Pop-Tart with a warm, gooey sugar cookie center sounds like it will do the trick.
