The Super Bowl and chicken wings go hand in hand. Whether you’re hosting or attending the game-watching party, there’s no denying they are a crowd favorite. If you have a small crowd, you can always make Buffalo wings yourself. But if you have a large crowd, ordering the wings is a more convenient option.
Buffalo Wild Wings is often the go-to place to do that, specializing in a wide variety of wings and sauces to go along with them. While many wing joints will have a special deal for the Super Bowl, Buffalo Wild Wings waits until after the big game to offer its special, but there’s a catch.
How to Get Free Buffalo Wild Wings after the Super Bowl
The chain is repeating the same offer it had last year—if the Super Bowl goes into overtime, the restaurant will give away free wings at a later date. Last year’s game did go into overtime, and about two weeks later, Buffalo Wild Wings made good on its promise. It gave away a free order of six traditional or boneless wings during a three-hour time period to anyone who dined in or carried out from the restaurant, no additional purchase necessary.
This year, the restaurant’s offer isn’t much different (including one of the competing teams). When the Kansas City Chiefs (who won the Super Bowl in 2024) take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 9, if the game goes into overtime, Buffalo Wild Wings promises the restaurant will run the same promotion again.
If the big game goes into overtime (and Chiefs and Eagles fans collectively have an anxiety attack at the end of the fourth quarter), plan to head to Buffalo Wild Wings on Feb. 24, any time between 2 and 5 p.m. local time. You can order boneless or traditional wings, but you must dine in or order takeout in person.
But, if it’s anything like last year, you’ll want to plan ahead. According to comments on Instagram, many locations had a two-hour wait to dine in, and one Buffalo Wild Wings employee has already requested the day off because last year was "a nightmare.”
